Hormel Foods Corporation Regional Sales Manager (Ohio Valley Region) - Burke in Nevada, Iowa
Location : Must reside in the Ohio Valley Region (Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana)
This sales position is responsible for the sale of meat products to clients within the Ohio Valley region (Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana)
The person in this position:
Calls on regular or prospective customers to solicit orders. This can be done in person at prospect/customer location, by phone or email
Completes sales contracts or forms to record required sales information; forwards orders to central office. May also provide nutritional or other information on products and be versed on salable features and benefits of products
Represents Burke Corporation at food shows; attends internal sales meetings as well as Broker and/or customer sales meetings
Responsible for hiring and training of independent sales brokers within the respective region
May handle customer product complaints; may train others in the work of this position
May also work with brokers within the specified region
Activity within the region will be recorded in SalesForce. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure that the information is entered accurately and in a timely manner. This information includes sales calls, sample requests, market visits as well as other activities
Overnight and weekend travel is required and could be as frequent as 75% of the time. Required to be safety minded when traveling as it pertains to the operation of the Company car and/or rental vehicles
Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. Will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information
Answers customer questions concerning products such as price, credit terms, and discounts
A college degree in Business or Food Science is preferred.
Sales position with a minimum of 2-5 years sales experience with distributors or direct accounts in food sales. Prior sales experience with meat products preferred.
Experience with existing customer base preferred.
Self-motivating and able to work effectively under limited supervision.
Proven problem solving and decision making skills.
Valid Driver's license.
Out-of-town travel is required. Must be available for evening and weekend work as required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
